Lester was born on April 19, 1934, in Tetonia, Idaho. He married Veneese Claire Crockett on February 14, 1958, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They had three children during their marriage. He died on April 7, 1973, in Palo Alto, California, at the age of 38. He jumped at McCall during the 1954 season. (Based on best research)
