Bill Cramer has accepted the Alaska BLM Smokejumper Base Manager position.
Bill is the son of John Cramer (MYL 1963) and began his smokejumping career in Boise in 1990. He jumped out of Boise 90-93 and then transferred to Fairbanks where he and his wife Sharon have resided since then.
In an email, Bill said that he very excited about the job and is hoping to increase the amount of interaction between the BLM and USFS smokejumper bases. He is convinced that neither agency's smokejumper programs can succeed in the long-term without each other.
Bill is also a 10 year member of the NSA. Congratulations Bill and Sharon.
