Stan, 74, died May 2, 2019. He graduated from the University of Montana Forestry School in 1967 and jumped at Missoula during the 1967-68 seasons. Stan started his career with the USFS in 1968 retiring in 206 after working in Silviculture and Forest Management on the Nez Perce, Lolo and Bitterroot National Forests.

Stan remained active in fire including seven years as an independent contractor and 12 years as an operations sections chief on a Type II team.
