Bill died February 26, 1985, when he was struck by a car in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He had won the Mt. Taylor Cross Country Ski Meet on February 17 and was training wearing roller skis at the time of the accident. Bill jumped at Fairbanks 1977-79 and was about to graduate from the University of New Mexico's medical school. His father, Adrian Recinos, was a Doctor.
