Bob died September 23, 2023, at his home in Selma, Oregon. He was born in Grants Pass, OR, October 22, 1948. Bob grew up in Wilderville, OR, and graduated from Grants Pass H.S. in 1966 and started fighting wildfire. He jumped at Cave Junction in 1967 and 1970-72. Bob was drafted and served in the artillery near CuChi, South Vietnam. After his return from the Army, he continued jumping at C.J. After jumping, he worked in logging and county forestry beginning his twenty plus year employment with Georgia Pacific Veneer in Rogue River, Oregon.
