Burt, 96, died June 26, 2023, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He was born April 12, 1927, in Gooding, Idaho. Burt grew up in Gooding on the family farm and graduated from Gooding H.S. and attended the University of Idaho, Albion College, and Idaho State College. He received his bachelors degree in 1953 and a masters in Education from Eastern Oregon College in 1963. Burt served in the Navy 1945-46 aboard destroyers and fleet repair ships.

Burt's career was in education. He was a public schoolteacher, school principal and a Superintendent of Schools at schools in Idaho and Oregon. Burt jumped at McCall 1947-49.
