Duane died July 27, 2021. He was born June 11, 1945, and was living in Auburn, CA, at the time of his death. Duane married Valerie Hobson August 28, 1971. He grew up in Likely, California, and graduated from Modoc H.S. (Alturas), Shasta J.C., and Chico State University. He was employed by the USFS, Mendocino N.F. when he was married in 1971. Duane jumped at Redding during the 1967 season.
