Ed, 87, died April 12, 2017, in Lacey, Washington. He was born April 13, 1929. Ed worked on a fire crew in the Chelan NF before jumping at NSCB 1947-50. After graduating from the University of Washington in 1951, he was appointed Forester for the Twisp R.D. Ed served as a Navy surface line officer 1952-72 in the Pacific. After his retirement from the Navy, he returned to UW and earned his master’s in Forestry and worked as a computer systems manager with the Washington Dept. of Natural Resources 1973-96
